2/28/2020 - Police Department presents its annual report to Mayor and Council

Police Chief Eileen Tiernan and Capt. John Uzzalino presented the Woodland Park Police Department's annual report to Mayor Keith Kazmark and the Municipal Council at the Feb. 19 meeting. The following statistics were presented:

Chief Tiernan reported that regarding overtime, in 2019, $14,652 less was paid out than the previous year ($133,062 down to $118,187), which Mayor Kazmark called a tremendous achievement.

In addition, the Department was able to purchase a new license plate reader with forfeiture funds, which cost $17,000.

Over 2019, the Department had a number of highlights: it hired four new officers, promoted three officers, added two additional school security officers, and had two officers trained in LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs), who will work in the three local  schools.
