Woodland Park has been awarded an additional $351,000 for its McBride Avenue Streetscape project from the NJ Department of Transportation. This brings the current available grant funding to over $1.2 million for work along the thoroughfare.
Work has been completed thus far from Glover Avenue to Newby Avenue. Two additional phases are funded and will soon begin – Newby Avenue to Brophy Lane, and the Little Falls border to about Hughes Place. This newly announced funding will run from Browertown Road to Dowling Parkway.
The areas from Newby Avenue to Browertown Road and from Route 46 to the Peckman River are currently under design.
The goal of the streetscape project is to make the thoroughfare safer, smoother, more business friendly and pedestrian friendly, with decorative lighting, planters and trash receptacles.
Mayor Kazmark notes that by this spring of 2020, officials expect the remaining project phases to be fully funded.
